Crispy tofu (or tempeh) fingers

Here is a great alternative to store bought chicken or crispy tenders. We save this meal for the special occasion, as it does require quite a bit of oil to pan fry. These are excellent served with a mustard honey dipping sauce or we love it with any Asian inspired dish.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix together the dry ingredients.
  2. Cut the tofu or tempeh into rectangle pieces, about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Pour some tamari into a separate dish.
  4. Take a piece of tofu and dip it into the tamari, then place the tofu into the dry ingredients bowl. Press down and flip the tofu to get the flour mixture to coat all sides. Repeat until all pieces of tofu are coated.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium high heat and add a generous amount of oil. When the oil is heated, place the tofu into the pan. Cook each side until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from the pan onto a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
  7. Serve and enjoy.
